A quick update - feeding Libby

I just wanted to put this down when I had a second, well, I don't really, I'm just making time. :)
So I just started feeding Libby "real" food. Real as in a few mashed up fruits and veggies and some rice cereal. The first time she tried it she LOVED it. I couldn't feed her fast enough! She was pretty much grabbing the spoon and lunging for the next bite. But I didn't want to have to wrestle with her every time I fed her. So I just laid my arm across her hands and told her "Libby keep your hands down" or just "hands down" every time she tried to lift them. The result? Now, just like the fourth time I've fed her she never tries to grab the spoon! Makes feeding time waaay easier and much less messy. It amazes me what a baby is capable of understanding. I really think that oftentimes we just underestimate what they understand. A little later on we'll try putting things on her tray and I'll let her pick those up with her hands, but I won't put a ton of food down at once, probably just a little at a time. Feeding a baby doesn't always have to be messy! :)
Just wanted to share something that's worked for me!

I totally agree! I really think babies can understand so much more than we give them credit for, we just need to take the time to explain with patience. I cannot wait to see you guys!!!
