Adoptive family needs help!

Please read this family's story and help them out if you feel led. They're giving away some great prizes to help raise money for the costs of adopting a baby boy with Down Syndrome. I donated!!

Were most of those prizes donated? It said they bought an iPad to give away...seems like it would be a lot of money to go toward the adoption!

Yeah I'm not sure. It says they bought the ipad but I think most of the other items were donated. They're trying to spread the word about it and gain interest by giving away neat things. I thought of it as an opportunity to help someone else out as well as have the opportunity to potentially get a thank-you gift in return. This is how they chose to do things and I'm sure they feel like they would receive more in return toward the costs.

Hello Kacie. Yes, we did buy the iPad and we chose to do that because we felt like it would help generate interest and get people excited about helping. Sure that money could have been put directly towards the adoption, but we see having bought the iPad as an investment towards the adoption since we are trying to gather more support and this item will hopefully be a draw/incentive for folks. We know many fellow adoptive families who have had success doing the same (as well as similar)thing(s). Often, people have to get creative and take some risks to get what they need to bring their children home. In regards to your questions about the other items, most were donated by people who support what we're trying to do. A few items were items of ours that we had around the house but never used (ie- coffee maker, collectible plates...). If you have any questions, I'd love to talk with you more. There's an e-mail link in my About Me section.

Also, thank you Stacy Ann for helping spread the word and for contributing. Your support means the world to us and we really appreciate it.
