One Month!!

Here are some new pictures of our littlest girl!

I took pictures almost every month of Libby's first year on this same blanket and I'm going to attempt to do the same for Cecily.

At one month Cecily is...
Growing and eating! She's doing really well and I think she weighs around 10 lbs. I tried holding her and weighing her and then weighing myself and then I put her on the scale and there was a bit of a difference. I had already taken her in to the pediatrician and so when her one month checkup came up I canceled it. Its not worth the $20 co-pay to go sit in the waiting room with two kids for an unknown length of time for the doctor to tell me everything is great! I want to know exactly how big she is but not that much! We'll go in for her 2 month check-up and I'll find out then.

She is sleeping really well at night. I hesitated before typing that because I don't want to jinx myself. ;) She eats at 10:30, 2:30, and 5:30 approximately. She then sleeps somewhat until anywhere from 7 to 9. She's been sleeping in her bassinet until the early morning when she gets in bed with us. That set-up is working really well for us right now. I love the early morning snuggles and we both sleep better with her in the bassinet. She is a loud little sleeper!! :)

She is a very personable baby. She loves to just stare into people's eyes while she's being held. That will usually make her stop fussing, if you just start talking to her and staring into her eyes. I think she'll be a real people person. She looves to be held and is always happy whenever I put her in one of my slings. I have a great ring sling and a moby wrap and I really want an ergo for when she's a bit bigger. I have another one that I want to sell so I'm going to wait to get the ergo until I sell the other one.

Libby is doing waaaay better with her little sister. She says all the time that she loves Cece and that she wants to hold her. And she hugs and kisses her and pats her stomach. Its very sweet but a tad annoying to poor Cecily. If Cece has her pacifier Libby takes it out of her mouth, if she isn't sucking it, Libby tries to jam it in there for her. Second-born children put up with a lot more than first-borns!! I should know as I am a second-born myself. :) I think that Libby has forgotten about being an only child and is doing a lot better with sharing mom and dad. She still gets jealous and wants us to hold her when we're holding Cecily, but she's doing better.

We took our first road-trip this past weekend and Cecily did great!! She slept almost the entire way both ways and we would have made it without any stops on the way back had the traffic not been so terrible. Both girls slept the first 4 hours and that's how long it usually takes us on a slow day. Unfortunately we made it in around 6 hours, the last 30 minutes filled with the sounds of screaming children. Lovely. Otherwise, it went great! :)

Cecily loved the ranch and slept so well the whole time we were there. I think it was all the fresh air and attention. Her Aunt Heather got to hold her a bunch and I think they both enjoyed that! Aunt Heather is a baby-lover and it was nice to have a bit of a break and know that Cecily was in excellent hands. Tim's mom also gave her her first bottle! It went really well and we're going to keep giving her one every now and then.

My mom is having a little tea in Cecily's honor next weekend and I am so excited to show her off to my friends and family. Tim's family has all met her but only my older sister, Rebecca, has gotten to meet her so far. Oh and my mom, of course!

Cecily is such a joy to have around and I'm really enjoying having a second child. I think I'm able to enjoy her even more than I did Libby. It's hard to explain, but when you see your first little baby running around and acting like a tiny adult at times it makes you want to hold and snuggle your newest one a lot more. I've really tried to slow down and hold Cecily a lot because I know how quickly she'll grow and change. Already she's grown a lot and isn't a tiny little one anymore. Literally, she's about 3 lbs. more than her birth weight!

Well, there's my little update! Enjoy!

Monthly growth pics

The Libster is 3/4 of one year!! I can't believe she's this close to being ONE! That's so crazy!! She has now been in this world for as long as she was growing inside me. Whoooa. More craziness!
Anyway, I just have a few minutes because she is currently chowing down on a peach. Yummo!
Here are her "stats": 28.5" long and 17 lbs. Just as I suspected, she is long and lean! That's the 75th percentile for height and the 10th for weight. I'm not worried and neither was the doctor. Some babies are chunky, plump little darlings and some are more of the lean variety. :) I was a super chubbo baby but Tim was veeery skinny when he was a baby. I'm kinda hoping for a chubbo baby at some point because I think they are soooo cute!!
Well, I just wrote a long Libby update so I'll just keep this one to pictures and I'll add more info later if I think of anything I left out. I know you are all dying to hear things about how precious and wonderful Libby is. ;)
Anyway, on to the pictures!!

6 MONTHS!!!

One half of one year. That seems sooo long! Although, yes, it does seem like 'just yesterday' that she was born. Of course she's a lot bigger now and can do a whole lot more. So lets just go through the run-down:
~Weighs 15 lbs. 3 oz, 26 1/2" 35th percentile for weight and 75th for height. She didn't gain a whole pound this month but the doctor didn't worry about it, I think she's just so squirmy and so she's not very chubby! Takes after her dad, he cannot sit still for anything.
~Started crawling!! Yes, I guess she's a little early on this, but I've heard of baby's crawling even earlier. This probably means she'll be walking by 9 months because she's already pulling up on things to stand up.
~Babbles a lot and does so in response to us.
~Loooooves her mama! To such a degree that she's not too fond of other people now. Besides Tim, she loves her daddy too but with most other people she just cries when they hold her. Again, takes after her daddy, who was very shy when he was little.
~Working on sleeping, she doing a lot better! Last night she slept from 8 to 3:30 and then again until 7. I wasn't a big fan of 'crying it out' but we had to do something and when she was close to 6 months I felt ok letter her cry. I did it for about a week because she woke up every night around midnight but I knew she didn't need to eat. So I just hung out outside her room checking on her every few minutes and she would cry for about 20 minutes and then go back to sleep. I'd rather do it now than when she's a year when it'll be much more difficult. Again, I didn't want to do this too soon, and I feel like we started doing it at just the right time.
~She doesn't get to watch tv but sometimes we let her watch the Rangers play and she loooves it. I'm sure it's just the flashing colors and lights but we like to think she's an early baseball fan. :)
~Still loves to bounce in her various toys and baby apparati. The jumperoo is an awesome invention and hardly takes up any room! Exersaucer is good too but it's a little clunky.
~She loves the animals and will laugh and smile all day long at Maddie, oh and she grabs handfuls of Maddie's fur and so far Maddie hasn't minded too much!
~Is extremely interested in our food and is so ready to start eating so we're going to give that a shot this weekend!
~I know she has a sense of humor, I burped the other day and she looked at me and laughed! Too cute! She also "fake coughs" when I laugh at her for coughing, it's really cute.
~ I know there's more but I need to get going so I'll just add more when I can think of them.

Here are some updated monthly pics!! She wasn't too into smiling this morning but I'll try to get some smiley pics with her later.

Libby and Dr. Zatz, we will miss you!!

Growin' growin'!!

Not only crawling but climbing too! Yikes!!

I thought this one was so cute because it shows her little profile! So cute!

Loves her farm book! She loves to feel the dog's fur.

Pictures!!!

So did y'all check out my scrumptious little niece? Ha! Little is not the right word to describe her!! She is just about 4 pounds less than Libby!! Too funny! I just wish I had been there to cheer Mindy on. (NO epidural or anything!!!!) Hopefully we'll be back in Texas for each of our next births so we can cheer each other on! I just can't believe my 5'2", 115 lb. SIL had a TEN pound baby! And people, the babe was posterior for a while!! Mindy is Superwoman!!

And now since I know you've been dying to see them, here are some pics of slobbery Libby! I've had a bib on her all day so hopefully we can avoid soaking too many outfits!! Oh and obviously she still smiles with her whole mouth! Too funny! I hope she does that for a long time.

Happiest baby around!

No bottles here! We just skip straight to cups!

Practicing sitting and more drool

Trying to crawl!!

Growth!!

Flower child!

As you can see, Libby is trying to crawl and will soon be on the move! She's also doing a pretty good job of sitting on her own. She can sit forever if I hold onto her feet, but without help she can sit without toppling over for anywhere from 5-30 seconds. Although I just can't wait for her to crawl! I love each stage and I'm happy for the changes. I'm not one to want to stay in the same place for long. So I enjoy her stages but I'm just as ready as she is when it's time to move on. Maybe I'll feel differently with the youngest but I doubt it. :) I'd better get going but enjoy these pics!!

5 Months!

Little Libby is now 5 months!! I keep saying this, but I can't believe how quickly time is flying by. She's growing like a little weed as well. I took her to the doctor for just a little visit. (I break up her shots so she goes every month). I tossed her on the scale real quick and she tipped the scales at 14 1/2 lbs! And she's roughly 25 3/4"! I looked it up and that's right at 50th percentile for weight and 75th for height. Those are the same percentages as the last couple of months. And that's just on breast milk! Makes me very happy how successful that's been so far.
We haven't started any foods yet but she is very, very curious about our food. And I started giving her a bottle of water to play with and suck on. I don't think she's actually drunk very much, but it's good practice!
We're making the transition of sleeping full-time in her crib and last night (first night) went really well! I'm hoping that will only continue. :) Right now she's snoozing on Tim but I'll move her soon. She still wakes up in the night to eat but as long as she goes right back to sleep I'm not complainin'! I've also started putting her on her tummy to sleep and that's really helped! I feel comfortable doing that now that she's 5 months, rolling around, and has great head control.
Newest "things": grabbing at everything: my hair, glasses, earrings, necklace, pretty much anything anywhere nearby. Squirms and wiggles on the floor trying to get places. Seems like she moves backwards more than forwards though! As before, Libby is extremely alert and has incredible focus on things around her. I really think her personality is a lot like Tim's, especially regarding her attention to detail, she does not get that from her mama!! :) For example, we went to the city the other day and took turns carrying her in our front carrier. We were window shopping and she stared intently at all the items in the windows and would look whenever I pointed at something. I really think she knew what we were talking about!
Well, I'd better get ready for bed. Lib and Tim have fallen asleep on the couch and I need to transplant Libby and get Tim to bed. Not sure if I can carry Tim! :)
Here are some pics, I'll post some growth pics tomorrow.
xoxo

Monthly growth pics

Here at long last are some new pics of my ADORABLE baby!!! So sorry, but she really is the cutest thing. :)
Oh and she has also learned to smile for the camera! It's sooo cute, I love my little ham. :)
